Model Answer
The table elucidates the average amount spent on 6 different living categories made by Australian people from 1991 to 2001.
The majority consumption was spent for food and housing (exclude of other goods and services) in both consecutive years of 1991 and 2001. Both categories showed an incremental trend by 5 dollars per month at the end of the period. In 1991, more than 150 dollars per month was taken out from Australian people’s wallet whereas 954 dollars for the use on housing. Electricity and transport consist of around 70 Australian dollars per month at the beginning of the period to stand at the third highest expenditure. This figure contradicted by 2001 as the spending on electricity and water rose up by 25 dollars meanwhile the exact amount dropped for the transport to reach the second lowest spending in Australia. The lowest category goes to clothing for two years ($30 and $20 for 1991 and 2001, respectively).
It is apparent that, people spent the most on living expenses which are food and housing exclude of other goods and services. Whilst the Australian individuals spending on transport and clothing.
Even though there was some increasing with the money spending on goods and services; this amount is not over $10.
