Model Answer
The pie charts compare the revenue source and the expenditure of a USA charity in one year. Overall, it can be seen that donated food was accounted for the majority of the income, while the program services accounted for the expenditures. Total revenue sources exceeded outgoing.
In detail, donated food provided most of the income to revenue source at 86.6 percent, whereas the program services provided most to expenditures at 95.8 percent.
On the other hand, rest of the categories accounted very less to both revenue sources and the expenditures. Community contribution, which was the second largest source of income, brought in 10.4 percent, and this was followed by program revenue, at 2.2 percent. Investment income, government grants and other income contributed very less to revenue source, at 0.2,0.2 and 0.4 percent respectively.
There were only two expenditure items, fundraising and management and general, accounting for 2.6 and 1.6 percent respectively. The total amount of income was 53,561,580 dollars which was just enough to cover the expenditure of 53,224,896 dollars.
