The chart illustrates the UK’s ageing population in 1985 and makes prediction in 2035.
Overall, it predicted that the ageing population in all UK countries will go up dramatically from 1985 to 2035.
In 1985, the highest percentage of population aged 65 and over was in Wales where It was about 16%. The population percentage was not
far different from UK and England where both countries had 15% and the different was just about 1%. Otherwise, the lowest population percentage was from Northern Ireland where it was just about 12% and compare with Scotland’s ageing population had about 14% in 1985.
On the contrary, percentage prediction of population aged 65 and over in Wales is going to be the highest population too in 2035 than other countries. It will be about 26%, and than Scotland’s population will increase to 25% and it will be the second highest rate in 2035. Even though, the percentage population was just about 14% and it was the second lowest population in 1985. However, three other countries such as in England, Northern Ireland, and UK will reach population approximately 23%. This three state will have a same population rise in 2035.
